The development need of this tool is associated with geographic growth and international expansion. Customer requirements included drilling sections with 24 inch (609.6 mm) PDC bits, which necessitated designing and manufacturing large diameter rock destruction tools.
For this bit a unique cutters location typical for large bits was designed and optimal junk slot area was selected. These features ensure cutting structure resistance and timely bit and bottomhole zone cleaning from cuttings.
Perspectives of using bits of such a large diameter are growing every year as the drilling technology improves. The use of these bits is very important in offshore and foreign projects.
