For the first time experimental PDC bit BIT 311.2 BT 419 TCB.02 was run in hole on pad 13 at West Salym oilfield for Salym Petroleum Development project.

This trial showed good results. For the first time of SPD project deep top section was drilled at average ROP of 115.46 meters per hour. The interval drilled is 168-1475 meters and distance drilled is 1307 meters. The contractor CJSC Siberian Service Company totally drilled with this bit 1086 meters in one day.

Once again the Operator was convinced that our Company is leading, he says: «BURINTEKH is forward».

Drilling Tool Development Centre engineers succeeded to combine aggressiveness and steerability performance in bit design. This new bit is more aggressive one, but at the same time it performed good steerability not worse than the previous BIT 311.2 B 419 TB bit series.

While drilling there were no common problems such as lost circulation and pack off the hole. The capability of mud for carrying drilled cuttings out of the hole was good and tripping out of hole was without drag.

We plan to continue running this bit in the future. For objective opinion it is necessary to drill more top sections with these bit series.
